Philippine Sea 1957

This Philippine Sea mug was made in conjunction with the movie “The Wings of Eagles”, so it’s easy to date it 1957.  Unlike the movie mugs, these were made for a specific group of guys on the ship Duke spent most him time on during filming.  The gang in the Chief’s Mess became good friends as they took care of Duke and others.  John Wayne made them this special mug to show his appreciation.
